6. doubt的用法

doubt的准確意思是「對。。。表示疑惑」，在肯定句中常與if或whether搭配使用，意思是「我對xxxx是否發生表示疑惑」，「我對xxxx是對的還是錯的表示疑惑」等等。

而用doubt that時，後面要接的是 將要發生或已經發生的一個事實，表示我對這件事的懷疑。而且doubt that通常用在否定句里，表示「恐怕、不會」的意思。用於肯定句的話，還是doubt if/whether更符合習慣。

I doubt if she will change her mind.意思是我懷疑她是不是真的會改變想法。
I doubt that she will change her mind.意思是我恐怕她不會改變想法。

又例如：
I doubt if/whether he will win.我懷疑他能否贏。
I don't doubt that he will win.我不懷疑他會贏。

doubt和suspect的意思上差不多。
doubt更口語化。
suspect更書面化、正規化，而且一般就直接寫suspect sth，沒有suspect if/whether這樣的搭配。suspect that 倒是比較常用，比如：

作為對比，I doubt that she told a lie意思是我覺得她沒說謊，不過貌似一般比較少這么說。
